Dr. Michael A. Civin Has Made a name For Himself in NYC Psychological Circles

Of course, Michael Civin, Ph.D. is a specialist in clinical psychology who practices primarily in the Bronx area of New York City. He has become a fixture in the close-knit psychological services industry in New York for most of his career, which is nearly three decades long by now. In addition to being a co-founder of Rose Hill Psychological Services, where he is a senior psychologist, Dr. Michael Civin also operates a private practice that serves patients in various areas of New York City.
Dr. Michael Civin co-founded Rose Hill in the neighborhood surrounding Fordham University out of a sense of duty to the city’s underserved populations, who were previously unable to access excellent mental health services at a price they could realistically afford. The idea of establishing a practice that provided the poor with the best psychological services at an affordable rate was revolutionary at the time, but Dr. Civin knew what he was doing. Rose Hill has been extremely popular in that pursuit, to the point that they have been foced to expand to three offices citywide.
At the heart of his career, of course, is Dr. Michael Civin’s education. That started in 1968, when he earned an A.B. Degree from Harvard, cum laude. However, he also attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine a year later and went on to earn his first Master of Arts degree from the University of Oregon so0on after. That wasn’t enough, however, as Dr, Michael Civin also earned a second M.A., this time in Clinical Psychology, from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. That is also where he earned became Michael Civin, Ph.D. in 1988. He officially became Dr. Michael A. Civin and completed a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1993. In addition, he has written and published many journal articles and book chapters.
